When we picked out this site for our home to be built on, rhubarb and chokecherries were already here. They could be 100 years old. An old homestead foundation was here along with an outhouse and a smokehouse. I think the hitching rail is still standing.

I am trying for the second year to get some rhubarb established. I love the stuff. We will be putting up the rest of our peaches tomorrow. We have been cooking them in small batches but after todays heat wave the whole thing will have to be done. It will be a day.
Seeing those pretty jars is so satisfying.
